In past years, Westmoreland Children First has sponsored a major fundraiser to provide support for children under WCCB care.

This gala has raised roughly $20,000 annually for essential needs not covered by governmental funds.

Through the gala and contributions from our sponsors, hundreds of children and families have received additional resources to improve the quality of their lives.

We are pleased to announce the 2024 Westmoreland Children First Wine and Chocolate Gala will be held at the Fred Rogers Event Center at Saint Vincent College on September 28, 2024. 

With your gala sponsorship, Westmoreland Children First will continue to meet the growing needs of children served by the Westmoreland County Children’s Bureau.  

WCF expenditures have increased greatly from 2022 to 2023.
This year our children need us more than ever!

• Bed Program and emergency needs expenditures both increased 200% from 2022 to 2023.  
• 150 duffle bags were provided, each equipped with emergency supplies for teens who are unexpectedly placed in foster care, costing $13,879.  In 2024, we will spend an additional $8,000.
• Holiday gift expenditures increased from nearly $20,000 in 2022 to $24,000 in 2023.

Additionally, in 2023 WCF also provided funeral expenses, tuition for children to attend Saint Vincent Summer Camp, expenses for Adoption Day and Foster Family Picnic, updated the Comfort Room in the Courthouse, supplied families with free clothing from The Community Closet and supported Child Abuse Prevention month.
